It’s been a very busy day at the office, but cannot complain! I’ve finally figured out a sustainable power and up desk set up, I have the best furry co worker ever by my side and a waterfall to decompress at about 5 mins away.

Have you ever worked while road tripping? It’s absolutely possible with the right set up. Lots of trial and error, but now that I’ve got it all figured out, I couldn’t ask for a better experience with my little angel Nala! 🐾🤗

We needed a walk, I picked the first and closest hike on All Trails and off we went. I had NO idea we were in for such a treat.

It’s only 5km, just over an hour round trip and perfect for a mid day walk in the woods with a delightful waterfall.

Make sure to stop here on your next trip over to the island. Your pup will love it! 🐾 🌴

Last year I took a year off from life to car camp

Last year I took a year off from life to car camp and road trip solo with my dog around 🇨🇦 and the 🇺🇸.

The goal was to at some point, take Nala to the most dog friendly town in 🇺🇸…Carmel - by - the - Sea which we made it to! This was such a memorable moment of Nala when we first arrived in Big Sur. 🥰

We ended up with a lot more than just a road trip. I got the clarity, space, uninterrupted time with God, and a vision for my future. By the end of the year we drove over 10 thousand kilometres and I got some much needed quiet time, and not a second of it was wasted.

This year we were hoping for a repeat trip down to Long Beach, CA, but with everything going on we’re staying closer to home this year. Although we still love our American neighbours and I can’t help but wish we were back on the sandy beaches of California this year. ❤️

There’s nothing like a simple morning walk in the forest with your favourite creature to start with day off right. 🤗☀️🐾

We were in a pretty far out there location and I almost lost everything (at least at the time I thought so). My phone just shut off and refused to turn back on, and it also turns out that my iCloud hadn’t been backing up my data on my phone so you can imagine how that goes.

We made it back to civilization (lol) just fine, thanks to the old school way aka signage 😅 and finally am back up and running.

I lost two days of work and a whole lot of gas having to drive back to a city, but at least MOST of my pictures of Nala have been saved.

If you’ve been texting or calling us and we’ve been MIA, we have not been eaten by a bear, we are alive 😆 just having major tech issues. So please send me your numbers so I can resave!

My little furry nomad is so happy to be back out on the road exploring! We decided to explore more of the west and are spending some time on Vancouver island visiting family and hitting up the spots we didn’t make it to last year while we wait out the winter and settle back into small town life in Alberta this spring.

There’s so much we want to do, see and show you, but since this time around I’m working from the road, we’re currently planted while I work out a better off grid set up so I don’t have to drive into town for power or wifi everyday.

We’ll absolutely be sharing more about travelling, working and the logistics of working remotely while travelling … with a dog, including all the challenges and of course perks that come with this lifestyle. In the meantime, if you have any questions, drop them below! 👇

Can somebody explain to me why the most gorgeous winter days have to always be the coldest ones? The sun is shining but the wind chill is -30. ☃️❄️

I realize that sounds terrible, but as long as you layer up, it really isn’t that bad in the sun. Or maybe Nala and I are just finally getting used to it again just as we’re about to leave. 😅

Nala and I caught THE MOST amazing sunset while driving up north for a much needed digital detox. The perfect start to our winter retreat away up in Hecla Island.

Have you heard of Hecla Island before? It’s a provincial park located two hours north of Winnipeg in Manitoba’s Interlake region. They have a dog friendly resort called @lakeviewhecla nestled right on the shores on Lake Winnipeg, surrounded by nature and great for a winter or summer retreat away from the hustle and bustle of life.

I’ll be posting soon about my experience with Nala at the resort itself here and on our new blog (yes, I’m finally launching it!) so stay tuned and follow us if you love dog friendly adventures in unlikely places!

Mentally, Nala’s living her best life on some be

Mentally, Nala’s living her best life on some beach down the west coast. In reality she’s hiding under a blanket in Winterpeg cursing me for deciding to visit in the dead of winter! 🥶

It is SO insanely cold right now, we are absolutely getting the itch to make an early exit and escape somewhere warm. I haven’t been back in January for a while and oh man, it’s not for the weak. We are most definitely sticking to visiting in the warmer seasons from now on!

I feel like the city should organize early morning and after close dog walking in the malls when the weather is like this for weeks on end. Wouldn’t that be an amazing idea?! Like, even if you have to pay, I’d absolutely go for it to at least get Nala one good walk in without having to feel like we’re both going to freeze to death. It actually dropped down to -40 with the wind chill a few nights ago. Crazy!

Anyway, if you are currently in Manitoba, and your dog needs some stimulation, the little ones are allowed at @gardencitywpg and @ocwinnipeg if you’re carrying them or if they are in a bag.

Since the mall walks aren’t a thing YET, here are some of the dog friendly stores we go to on cold days to sneak in a walk…

One more sleep till we get a two day break from th

One more sleep till we get a two day break from the -30 madness. 🥶 Nala can’t wait to get outside and hit the trails tomorrow.

For anyone wondering, we’re in Manitoba. Nala and I were both born here so you’d think we’d be able to handle it, but we are absolutely struggling with the cold this year.

However, before we head back west, we have a few dog friendly bucket list items to check off our list…

🐶 @winnipeganimalservices has a take a dog out for a day program so definitely want to do this with my mom before we leave and take out a fur baby for the day when it’s warmer out so I can get some pictures!

✨ Visit @lakeviewhecla for the weekend. It’s dog friendly!

⛷️ Spend the day x- country skiing in @ridingmountainnationalpark

☕️ Enjoy a coffee at @colosimocoffee W/ Nala… apparently it’s dog friendly INSIDE 😮🤗🐾
